We encourage everyone to start with UBuntu Bridge from Level 1.
Why is this?
- Many people have come to us saying that they had done many (sometimes 4 or 5) Xhosa courses before, but that our Level 1 finally got them talking.
- Our Level 1 covers fundamental building blocks for language learning, especially in the methodology of how we teach
- It can’t hurt to re-do the content and make sure you are confident in the basics as we teach them
- New students who join us at level 2 and then actually aren’t confident in our fundamental content derail our other student or tutors, and then it’s a lot of admin for us, and perhaps too late for you to join Level 1.
BUT if you think you may not need Level 1……….
LEVEL 1 ASSESSMENT:
IF you want to start at Level 2, here is the assessment below:
- You would need to pass with 100% to join our Level 2.
- We may forgive the odd spelling mistake, but we can’t afford to let new students who skip levels (and then actually aren’t confident in our fundamental or previous content) derail our other students or tutors, and then it’s a lot of admin for us, and perhaps too late for you to join Level 1.
- And 90-100% is what we expect and what we get from almost all our Level 1 students. It should be easy for you if you want to join Level 2.
Level 1 Assessment Session Bookings:
- You would need to book a Zoom Assessment with one of our assessors
- Usually about 30 minutes, includes review of written assessment, and Q&A
- Book here: bookings@learnxhosa.co.za
LEVEL 2 ASSESSMENT:
Ready for Level 3?
If you think you may not need Level 1 or 2 and want to start at Level 3, here is the assessment below.
- You would need to pass with 90-100% to join our Level 3.
- We may forgive the odd spelling mistake, but we can’t afford to let new students who skip levels (and then actually aren’t confident in our fundamental or previous content) derail our other students or tutors, and then it’s a lot of admin for us, and perhaps too late for you to join Level 1 or 2
- And 90-100% is what we expect and what we get from almost all our Level 2 students.
- Level 2 should be easy for you if you want to join Level 3.
- Usually about 30 minutes, includes review of written assessment, and Q&A
- Book here: bookings@makhosi-mlungu
Level 2 Assessment Session Bookings:
- You would need to book a Zoom Assessment with one of our assessors

Thank you and looking forward to seeing you eklasini!! ????
What about Level 4?
Level 4 is the noun groups and their practical applications. If you don’t know the noun groups really well OR how to use them, then this course is for you regardless of whether you have done Level 3 or not!
